Welcome to TQ&A. It's been a long time in coming but finally the interview you've all been waiting for, Terry "Kermit" Reinhardt. This small, unobtrusive man-frog has lived the high life while starring on the Muppet Show and heading several movies, but then fell into relative anonymity through his Hardee's years and into his Wal-Mart years. But he finally got back on top by starring with Jamie on the highest rated radio show in lower Bismarck.
Todd: Welcome to TQ&A Terry. It's so exciting to interview a legend of the green screen. I've known you while working at Hardee's, so let me ask you, what caused you to lower yourself and take a job at Hardee's?
Terry: Well Todd. I was living the lime light back in the 80's. You know I couldn't walk down the street without kids running up to me trying to get my autograph. I mean come on, I was big star. Then all came crashingggg down. My agent left me, my show was
canceled, and my mommy died. It was a sad time. I had nowheres to go, so I went to Bismarck, North Dakota to try to start new lives. I got job at Hardee's to make biscuits.
Todd: That is a sad tale. Before the Hardee's years, how did you handle the fame and money? Did you abuse drugs, drink, and sleep with many different people every night, or were you controlled?
Terry: Ha! Ha! I was not controlled. I tell you I was one crazy guy. In the morning I would drink two or three cans of roooooot beeeer and snort a couple of lines of Pixie Stix. Each day I would go through three packs of cigarette candy. I was hooked. One day I was so messed up that I bought a hundred bazillion packs of Cracker Jacks and put all of the free tattoos on my body. I had to go to rehab for three months because of it. After parties really late, like eight or nine at night, I would take two or three girls to my hotel and we would go at it for hours. I tell you, those girls sure knew how to play Candy Land and Go Fish.
Todd: Yes, that does sound wild. Now back to the Hardee's days, tell me about the soap opera atmosphere surrounding your life at that time.
Terry: Ah yes, those were some weirrrrrd dayz. Carol "Piggy" Schneider and I started working together in the mornings. She was a manager and I was just the biscuit guy. I thought that Carol was very pretty. But she has a kid named Craig. He was a bully to meeeee. Piggy needed someone to babysit Craig so she decided that I should marry her. This process happened over several months. In those months Craig would steal my money and bazooka gum and Carol would abuse me. I cried all times. Finally I left Hardee's and worked at Army's Sports bar but I had to leave because I had to work past my bedtime of 9:00. Then I worked at Wal-Mart. I was rich when I worked there, I made $7.25 an hour. I couldn't believe it, my hard work was paying off! I started buying all sorts of stuff, like a new dirtbike and a new getto blaster. I was still getting beat up at home. I was too scared to call police so I let the abuse happen, and by this time Craig was beating me up too. It hurts to get beat up with bricks and getting run over by an El Camino.
Todd: That doesn't sound like fun at all. Well that's all behind you, the abuse has stopped and now I here you and Jamie have your own radio show on in the morning.
Terry: Well first I just want to say pleaze don't make me go back to Caoool and Craig, they still beat me up. Sometimes Jamie protects me from bad things. He is good guy. Our radio show is best in the world. We talk about all sorts of current news and make jokes too. We had problems picking a name for the radio station. I wanted KAOL and Jamie wanted WGO. Jamie won, but the name he picked doesn't even have four letters. We also had a hard time determining what WGO should stand for, Jamie says "What's Going On" and I say "What Goes On". Now we decided that either would work fine so we both say what we like.
Todd: That is a good solution. Well for my last question, what do you plan on doing in the future? Are you going to continue with the radio show or is there more in store?
Terry: I plan to continue with show but I am also working on a movie. Filming starts in the fall. The movie is called "The Frogtrix". There is already a movie poster for it. It stars me, my character name is Eon. I have no idea what the movie is about, they sent me the script but I can't read. I agreed to it anyway. It should be ticket back to Hollywood.
Todd: Well I look forward to seeing the movie and I hope you have continued success with the radio show and in life. It's been a pleasure having you here Terry. See you next time, for Terry Reinhardt I'm Todd.
